Edite Louro has taken on the role of Head of Sustainability at Portugal Duty Free. With 31 years of experience in logistics operations and innovation across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and automotive, she joined Portugal Duty Free in 2023 to lead the logistics department.
Now, she adds the challenge of driving the brand’s sustainability strategy, promoting practices aligned with the environmental and social challenges of the travel retail sector.
With executive training in sustainability from ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, Edite Louro has been instrumental in advancing Portugal Duty Free’s strategic development, particularly in the area of sustainable supply chains.
“I take on this challenge with a great sense of responsibility. Sustainability is now a non-negotiable demand in the travel retail sector, not only from an environmental standpoint, but also in terms of social and governance practices. Our commitment is to implement sustainable actions throughout the entire value chain, from logistics operations to the in-store customer experience,” says Edite Louro.
Her career includes roles at Royal Canin, FCC Logística, ID Logistics, STEF, Volkswagen Group Services, and Luís Simões.
Portugal Duty Free specialises in the operation and management of airport retail stores, with a mission to make airport shopping the most anticipated part of every journey, offering unique experiences in an international and personalised setting.
The brand currently operates over 30 stores, including multibrand and fashion concepts, across the airports of Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Madeira, Ponta Delgada, Santa Maria, and Horta.
